What a great bowler. By 1985 he was very skilful and controlled but ive seen some youtube stuff when he was younger and he was absolutely rapid.
Liked his jelly baby sweets in his pocket as well I understand. Terrific player who I could watch all day. He never seemed tired at the end of the day -I am sure he was - but you knew he had tried his hardest every ball.Yup, terrific bowler and a gentleman to boot.
Not bad with a bat either.
You calling sir Richard a cheat?Liked his jelly baby sweets in his pocket as well I understand. Terrific player who I could watch all day. He never seemed tired at the end of the day -I am sure he was - but you knew he had tried his hardest every ball.
No, of course not, things like that were common place when I played and just accepted as part of the game. A bit of Lipsil on the inside of the pocket, a coin to raise the seam etc. Fairy liquid was the best to keep the shine. All stopped now thankfully. It was hard enough to face a good bowler without that sort of thing. Ever try to distract a batsman just before the ball was delivered? Illegal but was still done. You calling sir Richard a cheat?
