Nah there is a takeaway that's just opened called Durham Chinese it's in gilesgate not far from Durham. Worth a look if your over and peckish.

Happy Valley on Ettrick Grove

I was just going to post the opposite. We always use The fountain garden but one night it was shut so we used happy valley, never again. Dunno if it was a one off but it was Very very bland and tasteless. It doesn’t come close to The fountain garden IMO, the only downside is it doesn’t deliver and it’s always busy so make sure you phone your order in first.
