Rightly so IMO. Never managed a club at the bottom before, not a motivator. In some circumstances fighting relegation has more pressure than fighting for league titles or cups. Plus he's got an option of walking away in the summer if they went down. What's motivational about that I ask ?

The players are under extremely high pressure playing at home and who's their next home game? :)
I agree, I just think it's telling that people who don't just support Sunderland also agree, mind that's a presumption that it's not just Sunderland supporters that voted.
Who would they playing in their next home game ;)

Looks like someone has died
They are #prayingfortufty

You're not serious in what you're saying though are you
Yes he called them in for a training session, interpreted by the NE journo pack as a sign he means business.
I sort of thought they'd probably be well pissed off, I certainly would be, I'm off Monday, means I can have a drink on Sunday without worrying about having to go into work, I'd be less than motivated if me boss rang and told me I had to go in.

Attention seeking?

Here we go ....... yet another thread where you come on just because of your obsession with me and totally ignore the topic, becoming weird tbh.

I'd asked someone a question about how many points Newcastle would get fro the next 4 games.

It seemed a reasonable and harmless topic for a thread ........ do you think everyone who posts a thread is attention seeking?

This 'new manager bounce thingy' is quite interesting isn't it?

The next 4 games will probably tell us a lot about the effect this will have.

Newcastle are behind us on points, and goal difference, so are playing catch up.

I think they'll lose against Leicester & Norwich and draw the other two .........

The good news is that Benitez isn't a relegation scrapper by trade, so new territory and he ain't got the time to learn.

The bad news is I am more often than not wrong with my football assessment.

I fancied Newcastle to get a result at Leicester before Mclaren was sacked. Leicester are due a bad day and unexpected results happen at this time.

Our match with them has 0-0 written all over it. We haven't had a clean sheet for a long time and 26 years since a 0-0 between the clubs.

Exactly this, it wouldn't make me want to work any harder.

I just can't see them getting anything at Leicester.

Let's flip it and take a look at our own.

Newcastle vs Sunderland 1pt possible all 3

Sunderland vs West Brom 3pts to us.

Sunderland vs Leicester 1pt possible all 3

Norwich vs Sunderland 1pt.

We have to concentrate on our games "WE" are the form team for a reason. We score goals have brought in quality and most important we resemble a team who look up for a fight. Looking at them at this moment can't score can't defend and look nothing like a team. Rafa going there makes no difference the players and set up are the same Steve had to work with they are still shit.

I can. It's too good to be true for Leicester and it always happens in these situations that such clubs punching above their weight get reeled in.

I would much rather them be going to Stoke or West Brom.

Not because I Benitez has the midas touch or anything, I would feel the same if we were going to Leicester or Norwich going there.

Can't wait

Certainly different skills needed and a different character.

He wouldn't have been my choice to scrap out 12/14 points.

The only benefit I can see is that Newcastle have a lot of foreign players and perhaps he can tune into them in a way Carver and Mclaren couldn't.
