Ben Stokes Test Captain

My only reservation with Stokes as captain was nothing to do with burnout and all that shite, its that he has been part of the think tank for years.

So I am kind of expecting it to be the same batsman, and back to 3 right arm medium quicks too.

I'd like to see Brook over Lawrence and Pople who have had more than enough chances

it also seems like one of Pope, Lawrence and Crawley are going to be vice captain judging by his comments today, which I find ridiculous
Apart from the last series when the unbelievable ridiculous decision was made to drop Broad and Anderson, in the main selection over the last 3 years or so is no where near as bad as you sometimes make out.

In the main the best players (especially batsman) have been selected, over that period cant really think of one stand out batsman who wasn’t selected who should have been?

England problems have been far deeper than selection.

Bairstow won't be back for the Kiwi series, he sacrificed that once he decided to play IPL. So if Foakes or S.O. Else has a successful series,it could well be goodbye Bairstow for good. I think there'll be very few who play both formats and he won't be one of them.

Not soo sure myself maybe 6 months ago, but he seems to have recovered some test form so may be will get a few more games.

Still anything but sure they are 6/7 better batsman than him England.
