Dont think we need to risk Stokes but I'm sure he will play over Livingstone (who would be reserve batter for the Ashes for me).

Stone needs to play, so he can have some confidence to swap in for Wood/Archer over the series.

Could do with seeing if Woakes still has something left at test level.

Anderson and Broad wont get anything out of playing barring a few wickets and risk of injury imo

True, and everytime he pretty much starts with a play and a miss against an older ball.
I know Ponting was susceptible early in an innings too but Pope still needs to be playing tighter to his off stump when he first comes in for me.

Hameed, Jennings, Libby all in the runs opening.

I think Keaton deserves another chance with his form over the last couple of seasons

Stokes will play, as he can get into the Aussie heads after the headingley innings . I remember when Brearley got in basically to stand and captain as he did little else but the Aussies couldn’t get into his head as much as he had them
 

This may bite England on the butt in time . It really makes no sense when the ethos we are told , that everyone is there for the long haul
