Well exactly. This lot are just taking the piss, beyond arrogant and they know it. It's the classic Jolly Boy's Outing for them and they don't give a toss. Sick of reading on here "aye but the alternative isn't good enough"... Firstly we'll never know unless we try. Secondly why continue with something that fails.. if you're a business owner would you keep tolerating failure? Thirdly why reward failure? Finally, the alternatives may well fail but at least we've tried something different and I'd get fully behind that because nothing is a guarantee in sport and life in general but fuck sake don't keep doing the same thing over and over again when it keeps failing.

Yeah a mate of mine works for Spurs. The only player who drinks is Maddison basically, none of the others touch the stuff.

As you say, the games moved on because there's too much money at stake. Cricket will have to get there, or it becomes this joke "sport" where people don't consider them athletes like rugby or football.
 
Almost feels like they have forgotten they are out there to play cricket (and being paid well for it) not part of a tour party. Not surprised McCullum wants to stay on nice gig if you can get it getting paid to go off abroad and hardly bother to do your job properly.
 
Stuart Broad gave some really sensible advice before that holiday. Essentially, it’s perfectly fine to do it but be very careful not to do anything stupid because there’ll be press, and pitfalls all around.

If they won’t listen to sound advice from a former team mate with a test record to be proud of who has also backed them. who will they listen to?
 
You could tell from the beach pictures that they're all flabby and out of shape, with the exception of Stokes. Three of them went on the physio's run and none of them went on Stokes's run up the hill.

The media are going to have a field day about this, but I have a very strong feeling that McCullum and Key are going to remain in their posts whatever happens.

Yeah, I was surprised at some of the physiques from the beach, they certainly weren't as toned as you'd expect top level professional sportsmen to be, which is surprisingly given they had overprepared for the previous test.
 
I think this could turn out to be a real turning point for English cricket. The media seem to have latched on and the criticism/inquest is fierce.

After the last series people were “oh well, they’re a better team + Covid bubbles”. This time a lot of people are very pissed off with them.
 
Embarrassing behaviour and embarrassing management leading to utterly embarrassing performances. Who would’ve thought it.

Some of these idiots should never wear an England shirt again. If they do I can see a hugely negative reaction next time they play at home

Should be paying some of their contract money back as well in fines

It feels as if some in the media have almost been expecting this moment to come - "Give them enough rope etc". Agnew in particular seems totally exasperated, Prior went to town on them after Brisbane, Vaughan has been making comments for months and now they have lost in record time and these sorts of stories are coming out, there will be a pile on in certain quarters.

Yeah, and given what’s came out since Adelaide, I reckon that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The media will have a lot more up their sleeve.

Key has already came out and started firefighting, appearing on Sky Cricket Podcast & TMS.

If they’re not willing to change by their own choices, the media are going to force them to.

I think you are right, the media will have known before this test they were pissed up in Doosa but it's being publicised now. There is more to come.
