Yes! That is why there are still a lot of Moyes doubters amongst us, just look through the posts. Our manager has taken a team that went on a great run at the end of last season and made it shitter. There are a number of reasons behind this, like injuries and the new players taking a long time to settle (hopefully it is that and they are not just very poor players). Moyes had a great record at Everton, managed one of the biggest clubs in the world, but is not quite doing the goods here, so we doubt him. At Newcastle you had a manager who failed in a similar fashion when results really counted and you made him a legend.

I challenge you to find any rational person wanting to build a Moyes statue after two poor performances that managed to get us a couple of victories. Most people think he still has a lot to prove though there is a lot more positivity from a fair few posters.

Anyway, this was a discussion about clubs doing well in the lower leagues.

From the squad we have now we would need 8 1st team players & improve the squad. We have a squad to get out of this league nothing more than that. Shifting the cowards for £75million was miraculous.

The failure manager you mention has won more than all the managers in our history

But still FAILED in his task to save you from relegation, in management nobody gives a fuck what you previously achieved if you then go on to fail, which is basically what he did, fail. Unless of course you believe he wasn't appointed to keep you up.

:lol: Daftest thing you've said all day, and that's going some. Klopp's final season at Dortmund was a failure, he finished 7th out of 18, was knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16 and lost the German Cup.

I agree with most of this, but would ask that similar context be applied to Rafa's 10 games in the Premier League with Newcastle. The narrative on Ready to Go is that irrespective of the situation he inherited Benitez is chiefly responsible for the relegation and because he didn't manage to turn the ship around in time he's therefore a "failure".

It's cognitive dissonance at best, or some kind of comforting delusion at worst.

He had more than enough time to keep them up and couldn't manage it.

He has brought in a lot of players who are clearly too good for what is in the championship, has got them playing confidently and the league position shows that. they will more than likely walk the league and get promoted after which he has a shit load of work to do to a) shift some of the shite they have in the squad and b) get in at least 7 starting players for the premier league

So far the level of adulation and praise for him is baffling, he has a LOT of work to do
