I meant more that he (like Broad I suppose) is in the untried, bit of a maverick, non-establishment camp. Bit of a gamble - a healthy choice in that respect - shows the selectors are willing to show some balls now and again.

despite norm not reading my thread about this

personally i think swann will be a good captain, as from what i have seen, he has a lot of input in tactics during the 50 over games.

he is an experienced player as well and imo, more qualified than broad anyway
