Good spot. At second and third team level I'm not sure whether it's worth paying for anything more than the shitest set of pads.

We have a new volunteer (to wear these and I'll buy 'em for you), when you open at 2nd team, as there are no real pace bowlers at 2nd and 3rd team level...... O deary deary me... soz Tom like but FFS.

Buy the best quality pads and gloves you can afford.....They are an investment ask Paul 'Cocky' what its like to bat in his current pads....

Sorry if there's a link to these pads but nothing's showing on my phone, from Ed's description they aren't standard pads though. I've always bought bargain basement pads and felt nothing, maybe I've just been lucky,

Mine are pretty shite - can feel the ball hitting them, however they knocking on 7-8 year old. Need a new pair ASAP !!

The way I look at is buy the best you can afford - buying shite will not offer good enough protection. I'd much rather skimp on a bat than protection!!

Paid £20 for my pads, they'll do for me. Don't see the point in remortgaging for summit which just stops a cricket ball hitting yer shins.

When you are backing away to square leg you can get away with cheap pads ;)
