Batth to Norwich ** confirmed **

Whatever the reasons, we’ve lost three of our best players from last season in Batth, Stewart and Amad.

Batth was experienced, robust and consistent. Our best central defender last season. Have we improved upon him this window with a ready made replacement? Hmm, we’ll see

I don’t always think it’s to do with whose the best player but who can they make biggest improvement on and possibly sell.

Also whilst Batth was a good defender one thing he did lack was composure on the ball which our style of ply needs.

Amad was never our player.

Stewart played half a season.

I’ve seen this said about Batth. Did it hinder us last season when people were talking about some of the best football they’d ever seen?

Amad and Stewart contributed nigh on 30 goals between them. Have we replaced that? Again, we’ll see.

We’ve taken some huge risks here. Dack aside, we’ve signed bairns and entirely unknown quantities. Some big voices and personalities have departed and the head coach hasn’t got what he asked for in midfield.

I think we’re weaker now than we were last season.

I don’t disagree with that or that we are weaker as effectually we’ve been unable to bring in a £30m footballer (Amad) on loan from a top club. He was always going to be difficult to replace.

A lot of the players we have brought in previously have been an unknown quantity including Stewart.

Genuinely think club are looking at the blooding of the likes of Bellingham, Rigg now for a bigger impact next season or the season after be it to try and get promotion or to sell on for bigger fees.

tidied

Stewart never played a full season for us in his whole time at the club. The bloke seems to have legs made of spaghetti

We’ll that’s demonstrable bollocks isn’t it,

He started every single game of a 49 game play off winning season.

I don’t think a centre forward has ever done that before - for us and probably not for any club, to be honest. It’s pretty much unheard of.

Been the plan since kld took over. Buy low sell high. 40000 paying to watch them do it while paying out second flight wages. It’s a crackin idea.…….until the 40000 start asking ”what’s in it for me?”
