The English should be represented in this. Lower key than IPL but excellent chance to face a deluge of spinners on slow tracks

England are playing Pakistan for at least part of the tournament (ODIs) and Panesar was in the draft but nobody wanted him. Don't know if any other English (South African) players were available.
 
Hugh Morris cited 'security' and 'lack of adequate medical facilities' as the reason. He (Prior) was in the top bracket of players and would have earned a minimum £65,000. Prior also states he would have pulled out of the BPL, if selected for Englands ODI games vs Pakistan.
