Good question/bad question isn't the issue.

Sports washing aside, as you can include any club that is currently bankrolled by a Middle-East country, he has a point. Personally I cannot see how we will ever be able to compete with the upper echelons of the Premier League again. I'd like to be proved wrong however.

If being funded by that investment is what it takes, I am not sure I give a shit.

Didn't catch who it was but a question from a Journo to Neil:

'Sunderland were the richest club in the world in the 50's, now that it's Newcastle do you think the Tyne-Wear rivalry will continue to even exist?'

Why on earth does a Journo think that's a pressing question to ask.

In fairness to Neil he batted it off saying we are concentrating on ourselves.
The idiots asked a none football question to our manager

The keegan era at least we were in the Championship and why we're all dying inside a bit, is the gap between us and them is now an unbridgeable chasm for probably a decade. We needed to take a risk on the manager and sort out the ownership and we've done neither and I think for most fans its the lowest point in our history in my view.
Give the bloke a chance -pep would have a job on his hands here
Let back him the morra ..agree it’s the lowest ebb so hopeful he can move us forward

I wasn't overly enthusiastic when we appointed PDC, but I'd certainly draw the line if we went down the Sports Washing approach.
Easy to say it now but it just wouldn’t be Sunderland AFC to me anymore. In the same way I just cannot get worked up or jealous at what might happen at Newcastle United now, because they are no longer Newcastle United to me.

I wish AN had just responded with something along the lines of "what the fuck are you on about and how is that relevant?".

Neil has a bit of a rep for taking no shit with the press and hes dragged journos over the coals in his press conferences in the past. Shame he didnt give him both barrels for asking such a loaded question designed only to pander to the skunks and lick their hoops whilst smirking at us. Neil probably being a gent as hes in his honeymoon but hope hes made a mental note of the cretin for next time.
Neil saw the question for the pathetic attention seeking it was and gave it all the attention it deserved.

“Isn’t this really about NUFC?”

Quickly batted away and on to the next question.

Aren't Everton's owners richer than Liverpool's?

He'll be asking the same question if he ever meets Klopp I presume.

Tit.

What an utterly ridiculous question. Fucks sake the journo should be ashamed. It’s like something a 6 year old would ask

The thing is, if they'd signed Dan Burn while Ashley was in charge they'd have had been chucking shoes at shops. Call it 'sports washing' and they get a collective stiffy.

Being “The richest club in the world” means nothing tbh. It’s just a cute little tag line. They still have to stay within the parameters of FFP. They’ve left it too late. They won’t ever be able to compete with the spending power of Chelsea and Man City (Both of those clubs are global brands and household names)
They can have a canny go when they are allowed to sell 0.5% of a share for £40 million which they have done recently to cover their January window spend.... allegedly.

Edit - Journo is a fukin w@nker!

Imagine a vehicle with four baldy tires and an engine crying out for a full maintenance and that's our club.
You think by getting behind the latest driver all will be, its the very definition of wishful thinking and blindness to the truth (see: line one).

What is your solution?

Stop going to the game and put enough pressure on the ownership, that KLD buys out the rest, or new ownership appears and cross your fingers they're are any better. One thing was certain to me from the day Keane was linked and his signature would have convinced me that the rotten core(bad ownership) had really gone.
