Awful Journalism this morning

And they aren't "The richest club in the world".
They have the richest Owners in the world (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
The wealth of the club as a business and the wealth of the Owners are two very different things.
But its a nice line for journos to trot out for clickbait.
I’m not clued up at all about finance and football finance but a brief glance show that PIF is worth about £480bn but it’s spread across 30 or 40 separate businesses

The mags seem to think it’s all earmarked to spend on them

Deary me, I've always thought Ian Murtagh was a good journalist. To try to get him to talk about how big Newcastle are in his first conference is just rubbish - Neil handled the question very well but why would anyone want to make the press conference about that?

Part of their belief that everyone wants to talk about Newcastle

As do certain elements of the media.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Also awful Journalism from Barnes. Broadhead and O'Nien are weeks away from returning not days. He makes a lot up imo.

Also refuse to believe Bally was on furlough, that ended October.

Didn't catch who it was but a question from a Journo to Neil:

'Sunderland were the richest club in the world in the 50's, now that it's Newcastle do you think the Tyne-Wear rivalry will continue to even exist?'

Why on earth does a Journo think that's a pressing question to ask.

In fairness to Neil he batted it off saying we are concentrating on ourselves.
What a load of shite that question is

Neil should of said
Noocazzle who are they

Were we even the richest club in the world in the 50s ?...known as the Bank of England club aye, but even that would have been debatable.
Fckn knob.
1950 SAFC Signed Trevor Ford for £29,500 a world record fee ,3 years later we spend £114,000 in one season .In that period nobody in the world spend anywhere near the amount SAFC did .In the later part of the 50s Italian clubs became the big spenders .
A certain “Mr Smith” with one letter in 1957made sure we lost the record of being the only club never to be relegated,as a club we never recoved our position as atop team .
At the moment fans can vent their anger at certain people at the club .
Our grandfathers couldn’t do that as nobody ever seemed to find who “Mr Smith “was l

Good question/bad question isn't the issue.

Sports washing aside, as you can include any club that is currently bankrolled by a Middle-East country, he has a point. Personally I cannot see how we will ever be able to compete with the upper echelons of the Premier League again. I'd like to be proved wrong however.

I'd just ask for them to be removed, what has it got to do with anything? Chuck a ban in there too.

Neil has a bit of a rep for taking no shit with the press and hes dragged journos over the coals in his press conferences in the past. Shame he didnt give him both barrels for asking such a loaded question designed only to pander to the skunks and lick their hoops whilst smirking at us. Neil probably being a gent as hes in his honeymoon but hope hes made a mental note of the cretin for next time.

Did anyone hear the toon-toon who rang in to TalkSport yesterday morning when they were discussing a possible Pogba move to Newcastle? According to the caller he didn't want Pogba because he has a mate who used to support Sunderland but has switched to manu because we've been relegated to League One and the mate didn't rate him. It's nice for people to have imaginary friends but they really shouldn't call national radio to talk about them. Needless to say neither White or Jordan pulled him up on his drivel.
