Awful Journalism this morning

There isn’t any point in banter anymore, just as it was in Keegan’s time when we were stuck in the Championship, until Reidy ‘s rescue but even that was short lived. The team sank very quickly then.

If the rivalry didnt exist then sad MAG wankers like the journo wouldnt be obsessed on getting in cheap shots at a team struggling 2 divisions below the mighty shitweazles. Hoist by his petard,

Didn't catch who it was but a question from a Journo to Neil:

'Sunderland were the richest club in the world in the 50's, now that it's Newcastle do you think the Tyne-Wear rivalry will continue to even exist?'

Why on earth does a Journo think that's a pressing question to ask.

In fairness to Neil he batted it off saying we are concentrating on ourselves.
What an absolutely pointless question.

Glad Neil kept out of it.

Being “The richest club in the world” means nothing tbh. It’s just a cute little tag line. They still have to stay within the parameters of FFP. They’ve left it too late. They won’t ever be able to compete with the spending power of Chelsea and Man City (Both of those clubs are global brands and household names)
Have to hope this is true, what do they have, 500 million to be able to spend, a 5th of that has been spent.

When they can sell one share for 40 million and get another 40 million for ground naming rights they will find a way around FFP.(if it even exists)
Man City and Chelsea are global brands now due to being able to get around FFP quite easily. FFP needs another root and branch review and tightened up significantly 🤞

Pathetic question….but it is still possible for us to get back to the Prem within 18 months…..unlikely, i know, but you just never know…..Blackpool could still do it this year

If they are the richest club they will be irrelevant and they'll forget about us. It's not as if they stole Chris Wood from under the noses of City and PSG though.

At the moment they're just the annoying fella next door who pressure washes his BMW 1 Series at 7 o'clock on a Sunday morning. At least when Alex Ferguson complained about noisey neighbours United were a titan of European football. Al Mubarak wasn't photo shopping his head onto Paul Dickov tucking away a penalty against Oldham.

Were we even the richest club in the world in the 50s ?...known as the Bank of England club aye, but even that would have been debatable.
Fckn knob.

Arguably one of the richest clubs in the world - certainly spent loads of money - but where did it get us? No trophies and our first ever relegation.

Admittedly we were shafted by the FA.

Having a load of money doesn't guarantee success and it certainly doesn't buy you 'class' so in that respect we'll always be better than them.

And they aren't "The richest club in the world".
They have the richest Owners in the world (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
The wealth of the club as a business and the wealth of the Owners are two very different things.
But its a nice line for journos to trot out for clickbait.

You'd think so. Having the mags as 'The Richest Club in World' must be what it feels like to have Adele's as an ex.
