Depends on what you define as wealthy.
Comparative to others etc. Not having a go mate but you can have property but little cash liquidity, like any business not always ideal.
I always look at the end game in this.
Just glad I’m not a Rolex, Ferrari type, just a simple Country lad that needs enough to follow his club, go fishing, support the family and have a takeaway and beer / wine when required.
Just not materialistic at all.
Someone who owns several homes has wealth and it’s not like they’d struggle to sell them in today’s market
not to mention the funds required to actually accumulate several properties in the first place!
Just normal guys mate.
Every normal guy can magic up the income to get BTL mortgages on 2 properties with a third to live in with their family.
(Btw I’m wealthy).
You can't magic it up but save and work hard for 30 years and it's achievable.. 2 incomes on decent wages.. add in an inheritance or other investments maturing...Just normal guys mate.

You are a high income individual as I recall
I mean fair play to Epps for playing the hands he was dealt (considering he didn’t come from money) but I do think that people such as himself eventually lose the ability to contextualise their income/wealth
Easily done with lifestyle creep I guess

There is comfortable and then there is well off.
I genuinely don’t think people actually believe they’re not well off mind. I think it’s just that even hearing yourself think the words “I’m quite well off” makes you feel physically sick.
Nobody wants to admit it, but they want to post just enough information so that other people know they are.
I’m actually being silly here because I think people should just care less about other people.

As I say it's all relative.. liquidise the assets and move back up north and I'd be in a position to live the same life but not have to work however that would mean upping sticks , whole new social life etc.. something at the moment I'm not ready to doWhy are you so desperate that people don’t see you as rich?
I find it amusing. Just embrace it. Nobody will think less of you.
I definitely think they normalise their income and mistakenly believe they’re closer to the average. The actual median is like £31k but I reckon if you asked the top 25% of earners they’d say the median was higher than that. Not sure why this frustrates me so, probably because it’s part of the reason our politics is fucked.
Reminds me of that QT audience member ranting about being called a high earner when he didn’t think he was… £80k salary.
Thing is I bet frijj earns more than I've been earning last 4 or 5 years...Reminds me of that QT audience member ranting about being called a high earner when he didn’t think he was… £80k salary.
This is the crux of it. Just embrace it. You'll sharp know if I ever become wealthy by the way.Why are you so desperate that people don’t see you as rich?

All I want is a humble cottage in the south of France with some live stock ffs.
You've done well for yourself but I doubt you've lived a life much different to most on here.As I say it's all relative.. liquidise the assets and move back up north and I'd be in a position to live the same life but not have to work however that would mean upping sticks , whole new social life etc.. something at the moment I'm not ready to do
Lay the ground work early years means you don't have to be doing the same shite day in day out when I'm 65You've done well for yourself but I doubt you've lived a life much different to most on here.
You are much further down the line than people having a pop and what these people don't realise is that mortgage interest rates were astronomical back in the day.
people have so much more stuff be seem much less satisfied. You enjoy the fruits of your sensible living. It's not as if you were given a silver spoon when you were born.

Here man. He's no better off than his brother up here ffs. (Who lives in a fantastic 5 bedroom detached house in Sedgefield with about an acres worth of garden and an indoor pool complex).Nobody denies that you’ve likely worked hard and been frugal.
Jeez, the straw men you need to create to prove you aren’t rich
