I think he was just rusty as fuck, is losing his eye and has too much of an ego to admit it's over.

Apparently he hasn't played any cricket since the start of November: didn't play in any of the T20's against West Indies and Australia and hasn't played in the Ranji trophy.

He's also moved to a short backlift, presumably because his reactions are dulling. He's already losing his touch as a wicket keeper as his reactions slow.

Needs to call it a day.

Why wouldnt they play pant in odis?

Nothing worse than seeing a previously very good player stay on too long, holding up capable youngsters in the process. Indians sat near me at Headingley last summer were getting on his case and couldn't blame them tbh.

Dhoni is an absolute joke these days. Hes been the saMe for years. Far too comcerned with clmserving his wicket/ average instead of having a go. He doesnt even try to hit blundaries anymore

Pant is a much better option than him in one dayers. Its seems dhoni comes in and people like kholi think they have to take more risks to keep the RR high cause they know he wont

He offers a lot more than just batting to Kholi though, that's why he probably gets the nod ahead of Pant.
