Not for me, Bresnan gets a game because he can bat a bit. He's bowled 80mph half trackers man. The conditions will miraculously become bowler friendly in the next innings. So tell me why Finn and Rankin went on tour?
What's grinding my gears is the coin toss. We've lost the toss three times in a row, it's either fixed or Cook is a useless fucker who can't even call heads or tails correctly in three gans and should be sacked as captain immediately.

Canny harsh like! We'd be all out now anyway if we'd won it. Unless we could face our own "attack".[DOUBLEPOST=1386924384][/DOUBLEPOST]
Don't disagree that the squad selection was poor. They are unpickable based on the tour games tho.
What makes Bresnan pickable? The fact that he's not injured? It's because he can bat a bit, which I hate. We've got Anderson bowling at that pace and bowling tight-ish, we needed some more aggression and hostility here though.[DOUBLEPOST=1386924537][/DOUBLEPOST]Jesus that was tight!

Can't believe we've let them off the hook yet again. Slow and negative yet again.

Are we actually trying to win this match?[DOUBLEPOST=1386927865][/DOUBLEPOST]Are the bowlers seeing double because we seem to be bowling two feet outside off stump. Captain Negative strikes again

If the ball won't swing and if Swann isn't putting in anything more than a 7/10 performance England can't win matches sadly

Well, that's 3-0 then. Another 3 figure defeat beckons. Batting under pressure again against hostile bowling. Shame Aussies don't pack the team with medium pacers.[DOUBLEPOST=1386928661][/DOUBLEPOST]And yet again Strauss and Botham say how easy a wicket this is to bat on. The pair of them keep saying it before seeing both sides bat.

This for me. Finn has been harshly treated by the selectors in the last couple of years, fact is he does take wickets and the pitch in the first and current test ought to have suited him. Johnson has proved time and again that even good batsmen make silly mistakes when they are subjected to pace and hostility.

We just don't learn. Either that or we don't have the discipline to see things through.

Perhaps this team just doesn't have the hunger any more. They'll retire with 3 ashes-winning medals in their cupboards and forget about this

We just dont seem to have any pace watsoeva........Wait till Johnson starts throwing them down around Cook's throat .......Our attack looks fucked

Agreed. And that's before you get onto the fact that our batsmen seem incapable of accumulating runs

There are three, maybe even four potentially very decent counter attacking batsmen in Bell, KP, Prior and Broad. Given that any one of them tends to come in after his previous partners have given themselves away for something paltry though they tend to have to save the innings rather than strike out at the attack. Even when batsmen are on top we tend to try and suffocate through long accumulation of runs rather than go for a quick punch of the throat.
Today is turning out like the first day of the series, turned from a very strong attacking position into letting them get to an ample total. No reason to assume going on form of both teams that England are going to do anything other struggle to match it.
