Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

It’s bizarre this god like status he has.

Yes he was a terrific cricketer, but I’m seeing little to back up this world class coach rep.
In the previous Wisden Cricket Monthly they had an interview with Andy Moles who when he was coaching New Zealand asked McCullum to “rein it in a little” at the top of the order.

McCullum’s response was: “No, I’m not going to do that. I’m building a brand: Brand McCullum”.

Just about sums it up.

So, now the ashes are gone and the fight is to avoid the traditional 5-0 where does this team go from here? Certainly the coach needs to go and the approach needs refining. Surely time is up for Crawley and Pope. Wood won’t play again after this series. Basihir needs to go and play county cricket for a couple of years. Is Smith good enough?

Smith isn't good enough for me, shaky behind the stumps and too many issues with his batting technique
