Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

Won the bowl off against Bashir in the nets...make of that what you will on Bashirs bowling.

If only we could have picked a leg spinner who could bat for this tour, maybe someone who scored 5 1st class centuries this year.

I mean, the only thing that would be funnier is if we win any game that Cummins plays
I like Bash, he is a better prospect than Jacks as he feels like a panic pick who offers you a little bit of this and that but not being good enough either way. This is no knock on the lad as it's not his fault.

Fail to prepare.... ;), the lads played a t20 in NZ so they're well ready ha
ooh the lads are laughing! hell on here :p
Australia showing how it's done, grind the oppo seamers in to the dust, wear them down.

Test cricket is very, very, very hard.

In the sun and heat it's even harder.

The good times are great but it's how you respond in the tough times.

From the way they bat to the way they field, really not sure this England team have the stomach for it.

The batting is symbolic. It's hit out or get out in all circumstances. So you either have a great time, or it's over. Where's the stomach for the ugly, uncomfortable grind when it's required.

Root showed it, that was not an easy innings. Struggle to think of another who's kept their head and their upper lip this tour.

It's a shame really, was hoping for a tight series but Oz away is a beast in itself. This is without Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon also. What i've really liked about the criticism here and in the media, it doesn't feel reactive but very constructive and fair.
The reaction to that fair and constructive criticism from those in charge of the team/squad has given an amazing insight.

Arrogance off the charts

And the reaction to that (as well as the comments before the series started when questioned about preparation) means that the press criticism is going to be absolutely scathing if this turns out as we expect.

The cricket press can be fairly acerbic at the best of times but when the set up have burned through credit like no-one’s business, it could get pretty hairy. And I’m not sure this side and the management will take it well.

Gone from, we Might bat well to have a good chance, to we might bat very well to have something to bowl at, to we've thrown in the towel and this might be over today

they're going to have to mate, they've built for this series and not really turned up yet. The Aussies have respected the game and look like going 2 up and that'll more than likely be that
