Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

Well it’s hard to argue it wasnt shite when 4 of them got ducks 😂
Can you not get knocked over by a good ball!? The usual opposition play no part LOL.

Let's say 2 ducks are errors, 2 great balls.

That leaves 6 others who collectively get a score that had people saying it was England's day, we got a good score etc.

Englands day (batting), but the batting was absolutely shite
The "golf craic" is clearly throwaway trivial comment not intended to be serious but to provoke bites. Is the immaturity not coming from those who allow themselves to get upset by it?
Apparently not.

Why would someone purposely try to provoke bites?

Rather than just sensible debate where like you say everybody like you say is entitled to a view.

It’s the definition of immature coming on here to provoke bites?

Not sure but I find that the case
Time will tell sir. Be interesting how they go about it, especially if they don't think they have players capable of more traditional rest cricket. I reckon they'll need a change of captain and coach personally.
Like I say can only repeat rightly or wrongly defeats against Aussies puts soo much pressure to change things.

They will have to admit and take responsibility they have got it very wrong

I'd agree there. However, seeing recent interviews the suggestion is he does knock match winners "three innings out of ten". Perhaps they class 70 odds as such.

I don't think they will. Might mean change of personnel but if they stick with the current set up they'll likely say they need to improve on their execution as they still clearly feel the players at their disposal have the best chance of success with bazball cricket.

So Day 1 being England's day is shite batting? Interesting.
4 players went past 20 runs, one of them was our number 11 that swung his bat.

Root pulled us out the shite.

Let's see. I shall be very surprised if Stokes and Co say they did and will.

But regardless, England were batting and it was England's day.

It was an average at best batting performance, average performances don't win ashes test matches.

At the time I thought it was Englands day but it's impossible to tell until both teams bat.

Didn't say it did.

So it's gone from absolutely shite to average at best ;)

You did indeed say it was England's day. And it can be even if the other team then post bigger, as a lot of factors play into it.

I missed the last session at work, so I think I’ll set me alarm for it and watch the first hour and hope for two early break throughs.

I’d love for them to not go to drive every Starc delivery on 6th stump in the next innings and just try and get through him and score off the other bowlers. Admit defeat in that particular aspect and don’t go for the bait that has ruined us every innings so far.

Is there any danger of the weather saving us days 4 and 5?

I hold out next to no hope that they will adapt btw and that’s what is tough to take. Watching the Aussies piss themselves laughing at Brook when he walks off Starcs 2nd delivery in the second session yesterday should be more than enough for for us to at least consider that one change (leave starc alone).

It’s plan A or plan A when it comes to our batsmen (minus the 🐐) - it’s too basic to expect to win an away ashes series.

They absolutely do. It’s a regular theme, including interviews from golf courses etc.

Golf in itself isn’t a problem. But the perception absolutely is. And they play up to it (hence playing immediately after Perth)
Perception means nowt to me, results do, sportsman are not politicians and should not be concerned about the optics!

They however should be concerned about results and if they fail badly here they have to take full responsibility and accept they got it wrong on a number of things

Golf has nothing to do with anything whatsoever imo

If the perception is they take the piss, absolutely it matters. And if they play up to it, people can call them out on it.

But i take your point.

I take yours up to a point, but a fair rational person should know they doing to build team spirt get away from the pressures of top level sport etc.

Of course they not taking the piss.

However that said if they believe in something and refuse to move from that stance.

When it goes wrong they is no hiding place for this team and rightly soo.

So absolutely take your wider and fair point.
