I'm,obviously, not an international cricketer.

But,given the situation, if I was, I'd do anything to bat out and not give away a cheap wicket. If the bowler wanted to bowl 2 or 3 foot above the wicket I'd let them do it and certainly not hit out. Two wickets down to hook shots in a scenario where patience is the key.

Speechless.

well his average against the aussies this year is 25 and he is the most negative captain going.

wouldn't drop him from the team but what options do we have as captain...? bell is the only one showing any grit and determination. others probably don't have the experience or aren't in any sort of form to take on the job.

I'm not saying drop him as we can't and here's strauss licking arse

on commentary..? i can only watch/hear the aussie commentary, ian chappel is currently tearing root's footwork apart.
Yeah refuses to ever blame anyone or anything in the current set up.

Plus he is dull as fuck, where's mikey when you need him he always like to slaughter teams And his carribean banter is always welcome

yeah, that's why i don't mind people like him and chappel, they tell it like it is and that's how you learn about the game, especially at this level. it's great to have a bit of balance but i hate all the backslappers that they get in the commentary box at times.

Atherton does the kiss arse stuff to the level that is acceptable strauss is utterly embarrassing.

Mikey should do the ashes, I really hope strauss gets kicked off the commentary team he's crap. Vaughan is leagues ahead on TMS

Vaughn is excellent on TMS, and generally TMS is streets ahead of the Sky commentary anyway. They're much more likely to lose the plot with the simple mistakes England (or anyone) makes, and critique the game without any fear. Boycott is a joy to listen to at times.

channel 9 have vaughan commentating too, he's been good. they had bumble on a bit for the gabba test but haven't heard him at this test (yet).

Root and KP played pretty well there. You just hope Pietersen remains patient and builds himself a score too.

It's still a very good batting pitch and there's plenty of runs to be had!
