Whatever happened to the idea you had to be sure? There’s no way at the resolution limits of the technology we have that anyone can say with certainty that the ball never touched the grass during that action. And that’s all it takes. It’s not rugby. You don’t need downward pressure onto the ground. It just has to touch the grass. Even with a finger apparently underneath it’s hard to be certain that didn’t happen. With a whole palm underneath maybe.
The thing is whether he was out or not, the cheats will still claim it.
