Attendance Thread - Ipswich Town

Has this cockwomble not been banned yet?
Unsure how he hasn't. He was a Sunderland fans only a few months back.
From SD
Moving the away fans into the upper tier of the north stand in the first place was against Premier League rules at the time, although Sunderland made a successful appeal for special approval to make it happen.

Interestingly, that would no longer apply if – or when – the club returned to the top flight, so changing the location of visiting supporters would be a long-term necessity regardless.

“There had been dispensation for the away end to be in the upper tier when we were last in the Premier League,” Davison explained. “We wouldn’t get this if we returned to the Premier League, as there are now increased safety concerns.

“With that in mind, the conclusion we have come to is that we need to move the away fans to the lower bowl. In the long term this needs doing, so it makes most sense to make this change first.

“We may be able to have the away end across the lower and upper tier, but this also would come with challenges. These are the topics we need to consider and engage on.”

Does the photo not open?
That's not true though as the away fans haven't had to move at St. James.

On a general note, would you say that the lack of sellout at football games nowadays actually means football is less popular than it was?

It's our national sport and it's not all to do with pricing that people don't attend as much.

I don't think football is as big in this country as it was 20 years ago.

I actually think other sports have caught up a bit.

I think people actually do other things with their Saturdays now.

In your own head maybe. Any neutral would disagree with you.
We know you're a mag anyway.

Leeds isn't really a football city. The club Leeds United doesn't really have much of a history at all apart from the Don Revie years - the most famous event being getting beaten by Sunderland.

Any neutral would say that Leeds fans are massive set of bellends.

General question.

Do you think that lack of sellouts throughout the seasons at many clubs in the UK demonstrates football isn't as big as it was?

I don't think football is as big as it was in this country say 20 years ago.

No I think football has got bigger. Attendances have generally been on the rise.

Have they?

I look at many clubs across the UK who used to sell out regularly and don't anymore.

Obviously there are some who are doing well at the moment and crowds are good but I remember years ago lots of clubs selling out regularly.

Even in the prem half the clubs don't sellout.

Said he had a season ticket for us

Wow I'm surprised at that. Thanks.

I still maintain that is due to clubs like sunderland and Leeds which brings the overall average up.

I'd like to see how many clubs soldout at least half their home games last season in the efl, certainly single figures.

Average attendances over the EFL are at an all-time high.
I mean, even women's football is having massive attendances these days.

Record attendances in the Premier League as well. Grounds fuller than they've ever been. See link in my post above.

The trend is the exact opposite of what you're saying. The evidence points to you talking shite again, I'm afraid.

You still haven't soldout for the first game?

Only 4 teams in the efl have soldout their first home games of the season - Leeds, Leicester, Portsmouth, Wrexham.

No sellout at sunderland 🤣
Leeds capacity 38k, Leicester 32k, Portsmouth 20k, Wrexham 15k

Sunderland have 40k tickets sold with 7 days left of sales.

What’s your point?
