Attendance Thread - Blackburn Rovers

I sat in the North Stand till I was ousted in favour of the BCB and preferred to call it the home end, now I call it the dead end.
I now sit/stand in South Stand where there is a home end atmosphere.
The players will tell you themselves they respond to a atmosphere.
That's quite the zinger there.

The atmosphere the players refer to is the atmosphere created by the home support in the ground not your particular section of the south stand mate. Just like when we score goals in the north stand i don't claim personal responsibility.

Have any players been quoted as saying this had any impact?
Read what Simms said about the influence the fans played on Boxing Day.
The atmosphere was generated by the South Stand and then spread.

If the South Stand was as dead as the North there would be no atmosphere at all

I’ve probably been in south and north stand once each
Started in west near SW corner then concourse above now I’m west stand next to NW corner
My observation is that the SS are now the designated “singing end” and are the ones that try to initiate the majority of the songs / chants
BUT
I’ve never seen it full for some reason and the sound does not travel well, it sounds a bit shit from where I am now if it’s only them singing
My point being like M00 that if the game is good and exciting everyone gets up for it and that lifts the players more than anything or one end trying to lift them with a few songs that not everyone joins in with
Don’t get me wrong I’m not having a go at the SS cos if it wasn’t for you lot trying some games would be embarrassingly flat

Sorry for waffling just waiting to gan on the lash 🍺🍺🍺

Least the North Stand hasn't had to be warned about shining laser pens or asked to stop singing about a players penis size or a giant flag display to be cancelled due to pyro being set off

Made me chuckle

We need to up our game in the North stand obviously .

It’s so loud in the South stand that you can hear that the North Stand has no atmosphere!

Not at all bothered about attendances tbh

A| near on full house with lack of atmosphere (if that is the case) may look good to onlookers

But I couldnt give a f***ing shit what onlookers think

I would much prefer SOL to be filled with fervent SAFC fans rather than day tripper types.

Appearances are deceptive

34,000 or so loyal fans can make far more noise than 43,000 in attendance.

And if another team has greater attendances than us, I could not give a shit

I maybe get a bit envious if they have won more trophies than us though.....................

I agree with the sentiment but Boxing Day crowds isn't about day-trippers, it's people travelling from all over the country to visit relatives and a chance to get to the match. Many of them get to a lot of away games. I know someone with a season ticket but lives in Devon. He's over 65 so gets a reasonably priced home ticket and the chance to get away tickets.

I think I probably used the wrong terminology using the words day trippers in this case. Maybe occasional visitors would have been a better description in trying to get my point across

That would have been a complete sellout a few years ago.

Unfortunately the mags rise has affected our numbers and will continue to do so.

I've had a season ticket in the North stand since the day it opened. It's a home end just like every other side of the ground. Our last minute winner had nowt to do with kicking towards the south stand. It's that simple really.
The away fans will be down the south end again next season anyway

State of this. What a saddo

For stating a fact?

You'd have to be an idiot to not think that the mags rise will affect our numbers. Whether we like it or not.
Why. 31k in L1. Averaging upper 30s in the Champ. Nearly 50k at a L1 Play Off Final. We aren’t going anywhere. Bit sad you want people to defect to your Black and White shite.

There are lots more mags shirts in Durham for starters now.

People get accused of being a mag for spouting facts.

Of course their success will affect our numbers, it's stupid to think it won't.
