Aston Villa Splashing the Cash

Spent 800 billion since coming up, having already overspent and broken all the FFP rules even getting up in the first place, end up surviving by 1 point - a point they essentially were gifted by a jammy, freak, 1-in-a-million error in goal line technology at Sheff Utd. If ever a team deserved to be relegated, it is Aston Villa.

Good club with a massive history,took the piss out the mags when they where relegated so will ever have a soft spot for them.

hope they stay up and kick on as that’s one club that should be in the top flight
Agreed.

They've been unlucky to lose their first choice keeper and striker for most of the season, even with the millions splashed.

I don't think their manager will last long but job done staying up, difficult to argue that they're anything other than a top flight club IMO.

Be interesting to see how they avoid a points deduction next season, seeing as how the Championship/PL operate an integrated system. As far as I can see, there's no way they can make enough profit this year to mitigate the losses of the last two.

Such a bizarre comment. Firstly we're well within the FFP rules, and that's secured by the fact we got people within the club that developed the rules in the first place.
Secondly, we were probably robbed by 10 points from VAR this season. We had massive massive shit luck with it. So the idea that one GLT error is more important than 10 other points from VAR errors, that's absurd.
f***ing 20mil for Mings man :lol::lol::lol:
Bet you feel like a right moron now. Probably the best signing we made all season. Amazing value for money. Top top player. England international now as well.

VAR is a refereeing aid, which provides better evidence for subjective decisions. Goal Line technology essentially is non-subjective, so it isn't that you got a subjectively 'bad' decision from the referee, you got a cast-iron factually incorrect favour. A favour that very likely earned you the point that would have relegated you today

If I'm in error on the FFP thing then I stand corrected. The last I saw, you'd massively overspent in the Championship and may face penalties had you been relegated back to that division?

Yet when the rules are just applied for some teams and not that rest, it's the exact same outcome. You're robbed for points.
Either way, really don't care. PL football and we got the chance to build on it.

But the refereeing technology can go get fucked.

It was more a comment at ridiculous fees to be honest not just against him but fees in general. He's had a good season and its good to see he's over some horrendous injuries.
