Aston Villa Splashing the Cash

And a year after that you went down, then a year after that you went down again. He who laughs last etc. These days, I can't bring myself to take the piss because of the pity I have for you.

I've always told you - Loss of form is temporary but class is permanent.

Yep. That’s why you’re going down. As I said.

That's fair enough. But there's a big difference between us and Fulham, in terms when the signings were done. IIRC Fulham signed their majority of players on deadline day. We are trying to get most of them in prior to pre-season.
And even if that wasn't the case, you can't expect us not having a go at it. The alternative would be utterly shameful.

It's amazing how managers storm the EFL but then cant handle the premiership - mick McCarthy is the same - if you cant set up tactically to stop goals you are doomed -

Are you suggestion Aston Villa are class?

He is when things are going well for him. He didn't get a sniff yesterday and looked lazy and uninterested. That could be applied to all the villa players yesterday though

I thought he was one of the few who kept having a go tbh; I'll be honest it was such a hammering and the game was over that I didn't really give it my full attention but I'm sure there was a couple of times when he almost tried to do everything himself. Looked frustrated as hell. If they do go down they'll be glad they've got him mind, selling him and getting the parachute payments should be enough to see them challenge to get back up

It was men against boys. Personally I thought we set up wrong. We’d have lost whatever way we played because City turned up. What’s annoying is that we never laid a finger on them. Also dropping Guilbert???? What the hell was that about .

He played ok yesterday all things considered. He got frustrated but who wouldn’t. You could tell by watching him yesterday that’s he’s a class act.

He has been superb this season tbf. Which is why the very top clubs will be after him for big money.

That's their back up plan if they get relegated
I think this @Cridge fella will be visited by 3 spirits on Christmas Eve.

The ghost of Villa past, the ghost of Villa present and the ghost of Villa yet to come. He will wake up in a sweat and rejoice to the world that he now supports Birmingham on Christmas morning.

You've missed the ghost of Villa pop

Its by no means certain, but if you do go down do you think he’ll stay at the club.

I loved Dean Smith's little justification on MOTD - 'Their 3 goalscorers cost more than our whole squad'. And that actually isn't at all true. Jesus, Aguero and Mahrez between cost 125m - Aston Villa spent more than that in ONE WINDOW last summer.
