I just assumed you would have changed your mind after this summer, its been a disaster for him!

Asboutely not, more soo now than ever we need good players to take responsibility at the top of the order.

Plus when Root has batted well in innings this series he has done it with patience and application, which top 3 batsman need and don’t see any players in the country better suited than him at 3.

Still can’t believe picked Roy as opener.

Would rather Root opened with Burns.

not sure I can bare a Wade 100

Root isn't and never will be a number 3, he is our best player and has to bat 4, his average is plummeting and is way below what it is at 4 and its hurting the team.

We ended up with Denly batting at 4, the best batting spot in any line up, there is no logic in it,its hurting the team

He average low 30s this series, thats all the evidence you need marra

Captaincy has looked a burden to him especially this series. It's definitely effect his batting.

We will be on all day with this as we soo far apart on it.

There is loads of variables where we could go on forever, form opposition bowlers etc etc.

For instance the Aussie bowlers which we both agree have been excellent have been the main and defining reason for Roots wickets this series, he has had some brilliant deliveries.

You have always in my opinion but more importance on somebody’s position in the order rather than other factors which always confused me?

If Root was batting at 4 in this series against obviously the same bowlers on the same wickets do you really believe he would have performed that much better just one place lower!

Absolutely yes

Every single stat from his career shows it

He averages more than 10 less at 3! That’s a massive difference surely?
