If I had to pick one player we could have kept last season, it would have been him, easily.
Riggy for me given he's two years younger and wasn't far off in terms of appearances and influencing games. I wasn't gutted when Bellingham left cos after his brother it was so obvious what the plan was for him. Was just glad we got him for the last year as he could easily have gone the summer before.

I didnt think it was, I thought 12 months in the premiership with everything not going to shit would see him double that.

Not complaining about the price mind, nout to complain about nowadays.
I mean for the literal value of him at that point. Agree his fee would be way clear of that now if he played for us

Said at the time, last summer, we should sign him. But was told by the SMB that we shouldn't be signing relegated players.
Didn’t West Ham pay about £45m for him? Good potential and proved a good signing this year but unsure if we’ll make that type of signing yet price wise?

Well, that's the thing isn't it? could we afford another Xhaka?...I wouldn't think so, but who knows what cards KLD and Gisholfi have up their sleeves.

I think getting another DCM is a lot easier than rethinking the way we play mind. Xhaka will likely still be our best player next season, so a player who can step in and take some of the load off would be massively beneficial.

Not sure if Regis is the type to change a style of play if Xhaka was to be out neither.
I think rlb is having the players play out of position deliberately and I thoroughly expect we will have fully adapted for next season and be playing like psg.

It'll be interesting to see how his career goes, but I can't think of a player the age he was with us being so influential over a season or three seasons for that matter.

Not to worry, like you say, we got better for less in Noah.
Mine would have been Dan Neil, which shows how quickly things change in Football.
