Around the Grounds

Yorks win to make it two from two. Both wins came with a fair bit of luck/poor play form the opposition, think we'll be found out by better opposition. Today was embarrassing from Nottingham, they need to sort themselves out.

Without tempting fate and coming across as a typical arrogant Yorkie, I’m not sure there is much better opposition in this group. Interesting game against Derbyshire coming up next at Headingley. Keep banging on about it but wish we could be there

Runs aplenty at Canterbury.Sussex 503/1 Double tons for Cox and Leaning .Near enough a 400 stand.Big Mitch solitary wicket taker
And Cox misses the next game for breaching covid protocols - posed for a photo with a kid and gave him an autograph after his double hundred, now has to isolate.

Cricinfo and BBC say we're playing Leicestershire at Grace Road (although one page on Cricinfo actually said Trent Bridge ).
Wisden and Durham CCC site says we're playing them at the Riverside.

Anyone know which is correct?

As far as I'm aware the game is now in Leicester. It was originally down to be played at Durham with us as the away team, but lockdown has eased in Leicester hence the venue change. I'm not aware of anything related to Trent Bridge though.

Ben Slater must love playing against Lancashire.

A fortnight ago he scored 172 against them when on loan to Leics and then is recalled by Notts and helps himself to 142 against the same opponents.

For the record Durham managed 180 and 110 in their game against the Red Rose.

Why should it be any different the kid could of had symptoms
Not likely.
a) it was outside, in the sunshine. Sunshine kills the virus quickly and a breeze disperses it. The safest place to be is outside among young people.
b) contact was minimal
c) young child, extremely rare to get it. Kid, even now would be more likely get catch flu than Covid.
d) The cricketer was also young, more likely than the kid to get it but it's still relatively harmless for him.
