Are we gonna protest yet?

Get 40 or 50 geezers to go the the AOL GATES and scare the ship out of these useless twat, then the same lads turn up against Burton at 12.30 on the dot and wait for Bains in his 67 reg black Range to turn up in his blue Armarni suit and let him know face to face what he and his boss have done to our beloved club.
Got that off my chest!!!

You been stalking him then?

Well I asked the question, all seem happy to continue as we are.
We won’t be requiring any assistance and I fully expect castigation.
Least we will be able to say we tried to do something.
Some people deserve Ellis Short and Bain, killing our club on a daily basis and yet no one wants to do anything.
Make some unhappy noise create a scene,?
Nah we’re sunderland we’ll do nowt say nowt and take the piss on the smb

What is it you want to do? What exactly are you protesting?

Short wants to sell and if rumours are to be believed there are people in the process of trying to buy the club.

Are you sure it's a good time to be showing the potential new owners what a bunch of wailing ingrate fannies we have in the fanbase? It might just put them off buying us after all. Is that what you want?

I blame social media. Suddenly everything's all "look at me, look at me, this is my opinion and I want the whole world to know it! It's my right as a person to share my thoughts with the world regardless of how inane, uninformed or downright stupid those thoughts might be!"

It seems the old lesson of "sometimes the best thing you can do is keep your mouth shut" has been lost over the past 5-10 years.

Excellent post

I totally agree.

But I think that most supporters want the club to hear their voices.

At the moment most of us feel disconnected.

You don't think the people at the club know that the fans are dissatisfied? Attendances are way down and there's been booing at almost every match this season coupled with chants of "you're not fit to wear the shirt". Not to mention all the abuse their social media account will have been getting daily for the past two years.

What do you have to say to the club that you think they don't already know?

If you feel disconnected then with all due respect the problem is with you, not with the club. We're all in the same boat yet some of us don't feel disconnected.

We even have RAWA now to act as a go-between. Your voice is already being heard.

I really wish a full organised protest would be arranged.

I can’t believe how many ppl are happy to just sit back with so much apathy and keep quiet.

What makes you think it's apathy stopping folk from protesting?

I'm against the idea of a protest because I think a: you're trying to achieve the same thing that Short is trying to achieve - him selling the club, b: it might have a detrimental effect on the squad (a squad that while underperforming at present still contains a handful of players worth keeping who I wouldn't want to drive away from the club) and c: it might put off any potential buyers of the club.

That's not apathy it's common sense. There's nothing positive that a protest could achieve, but potentially there are two negatives.

"But I want my voice to be heard!"

Well, me too, and my voice says "please don't protest, because you'll likely make the situation even worse than it already is!"

See in my eyes it’s people like yourself that don’t want to do anything and probably go to the games (I hope you go to the games if your having a input on it) and say nothing and even potentially applaud them off once they leave the field of play regardless of the result and I see that as a bigger problem than protesting as you are effectively condoning what the players and hierarchy serve up

Good on the op and his mates for doing something as they still have the passion. TBH my hearts not in it anymore I've totally lost my passion for the club, which In affect is really sad as I've watch them since the 70's onwards....I can't wait for short to go as I'm hoping my love for the club will return...

Each to their own but I believe if people are going to protest they should be getting Bain out of the club first before Short.

I’ve no doubt we will end up in administration if Bain is left calling the shots.

Itll probably get to the stage where all the pent up frustration will cause a pitch invasion similar to the recent west ham one...maybe the last home game of the season...don't condone it but ya wouldn't really blame staunch supporters after watching the club disappearing for their eyes...

If someone is put off buying a club because a handful of fans have protested after two relegations in a row, the worst home form (presumably) in the club's history, a season that guarantees that next season will be, at best, the joint lowest the club has ever finished and whilst paying fortunes to people who are vastly underperforming then maybe owning a football club isn't for them. We've kept our mouths shut, we've barely displayed any anger, where has it got us?

Now I'm not saying I'm in favour of a protest myself, but I certainly won't criticise anyone who does want to make their feelings known, fair play to them

If players are trying then they deserve applause even if they lose.

If they weren't trying then that's different, but this batch genuinely look like they're trying, they just aren't good enough to win most of the time. That's not their fault so in my opinion they shouldn't be lambasted for it.
