Don’t get the Reflektor hatred, it’s very good. Just beaten into second by Suburbs

It has 20 mins of filler in it. Isn't a patch on Funeral as a cohesive piece of work.

I think they've got progressively worse with every record. They can still write good pop tunes but the last few records have been uninspiring with far too many frankly shit tracks.

I have a sympathy with this view. They were innovative and genuinely different in their early days. However even their poorer songs are very entertaining in a live context.

I draw parallels with Mercury Rev and their respective career arcs. Outstanding early albums...then diminishing returns from there on. Still entertaining live.
