Anyone not wanting Europe?

It will be amazing to see the lads in Europe, first time in my life.
My only concern is squad cost ratio which would be restricted to 70% of turnover compared to 85% if we don't qualify.
I think another season of building would be ideal considering we have just been promoted.

If we qualify for Europe then we will have to buy a few extra players, it's quite simple. The current squad would be stretched with the extra fixtures. But it's highly likely that we will buy the extra players.

Even if not, I'd rather still qualify and have a bash at it. Otherwise what is the point in existing as a club. You have to strive for improvement and to win trophies etc.

What a load of shite. We should be aiming to win every game, if we get into Europe we will have to deal with it. Even if we dont take it seriously and concentrate on the league we should still be aiming to finish high up the league.

If we had a chance at champions league not a single person would question if we want it or not even though we'd have somewhere between not a and no chance of winning it.

Imo we should aim to get into Europe god knows what this team could achieve especially with a couple of quality additions.

Edit: did they also say we shouldn't aim to get promoted last season as its too early?

Shut up Alun

These financial restrictions.
After last summer the club may have no intention of going anywhere near them imo.

Its a ceiling on your spending which might mean nowt.

The impact on us would be around £30m lower cap on wages + amortisation. Given our wage bill is relatively low, the primary impact is on transfer budget. On 4/5 year contracts, that's £120-150m less.

There’s no guarantees we’d automatically struggle in the league if we got in. I know it’s not entirely the same but we coped pretty well during AFCON with a tough set of fixtures and missing half our team, so the extra games may not necessarily affect us that badly. Patterns are also there to help broken, we’ve already broken one this season with the newly promoted team doing so well rather than dropping divisions immediately.

There is a valid concern that we'd need a bigger squad so our transfer budget will get spread out across more players.

But as a fan, this is the stuff we could only dream of a couple of years ago. Absolutely mental to not want it

This. Like, if you don't want us to qualify for Europe because it'll impact leagye form, what exactly do you dream about? Finishing 11th?

It's the similar argument about the cup btw, when people want us to put out weakened teams.

Can't believe I'm asking this but there's a few lads in work this morning saying we shouldn't be looking to win on Sunday as if we qualify for europe it all but guarentees relegation next year...

Just wondering if anyone shares the same opinion? For me it's a no brainer, opportunities like this don't come around often and we should be snapping the hands off it.
Didn't know you worked in the Black Garter.

I think sometimes people just say things to appear edgy. Best ignored.
