Anthony Gordon to Bayern.

I think he's a dangerous player, but agree, he needs to add goals and assists to his game, he's 25 now (I think).

I'm surprised Palmer, Gibbs-White and Calvert Lewin aren't going to the World Cup, let's see what happens.

I wonder if attitude/their general fit with the squad in terms of their character and personality has played much into the decision and not just their quality/current form.

If you expect Kane to drop deep, you want players who will run into the space beyond him. From the left our only two options really are Rashford and Gordon.

He might not have been clinical recently, but he definitely has attributes (pace and directness) to drive into the space left by Kane and hopefully link up with Kane, Bellingham and Saka
Said this for years. Sterling was very good for England as he was usually the only player ahead of Kane. Southgate used to drive me insane not playing another winger/forward from the left to get beyond Kane. Granted Gordon is an utter tit but he would suit a system where wingers are often ahead of Kane.

Aye. Under GS In the qualifications everyone’s getting in the box as the crap reams are behind the ball. At the sharp ends of the tournaments when defence becomes a priority and Kanes not seeing as much of the ball he drops deeper and deeper and there’s no one going in to the gaps.
The opposition couldn’t believe their luck.

He looked great in Howe's system his first couple of seasons there. He has pace, is a genuine threat on the break & is a pretty good finisher, but he's a coward of a player with a shit attitude once the going gets tough & a main character syndrome that far outweighs his ability.

Nearly every team will defend deep with most of their team behind the ball, there's no space for him to run into.

One of my abiding memories of this season was during the skunks at home. Mukiele jogging alongside the mutant looking little rat, goading him into sprinting. He never got passed him and Mukiele just took the piss. Did it a few times because he knew he was faster. I wouldn’t cheer him even in the World Cup. Vile little runt.

Relies a lot on his pace. Doesn't use his left or go down the line enough and lacks guile and trickery mind which means he can (and has) looked a bit ineffective when opponents are well set. Also, a bit weak which really hurts him trying to shield the ball from aggressive full backs getting tight or when chasing balls down the channels (as mentioned above, Gordon tried running Mukiele down the line and pretty much got eased out of play in one of the most casual bits of defending you'll ever see. Gordon didn't do anything else all game).

Personally I'd be gutted if we didn't start Rashford over him. Rashford has far more strings to his bow. He gives and goes very well, looks to run in behind a lot and genuinely will go down the line as much as cut inside. He compliments Kane far better as someone trying to spring the offside trap and get into the box. He might take more risks and lose the ball more than Gordon but that is what I want my wingers to do.

I think Gordon is one of those player that Tuchel sees as someone who could come on and give something different. I’ll be surprised if he starts any games .

Last two seasons in PL 60 games 12 goals of which 5 were penalties.
I don't see what the fuss is about.
Pace. Massive pace.
Runs into space created.
If England do well at WC he will be part of it. Using the spaces created when Kane drops deep.
His antics often bring derision, as they should, but he is a decent player. If he goes to Bayern, as has been mooted, he will do very well.

Leaving aside the fact he is ugly, preening, gobby and a mag, he’s not very impactful or talented is he?
He runs fast but can’t cross accurately; he can’t shoot on target often.
He’s a massive **** to boot.
I’ll be glad when he fucks off to Duetschland.
