Why should you have to pay more money for services because your house happens to be nicer? It's utter bollocks. Do you pay higher income tax because your wife has big tits?

I would agree to an extent. But those houses for the most part have a lot more money spent on things like parks and green space around them. Things like post code policing too.

My point is tax is supposed to be based on earnings (income tax ,NI, dividends) or spending (VAT).
A £100,000 house owner in a Durham pit village will pay similar council 'tax' as a £5,000,000 house owner in Westminster.

Tax comes in all different forms. The more you pay on income is only income tax. Most others are the same road tax.

Not entirely true, a Westminster resident in a £10m house pays less than a resident of County Durham in a £0.1m house.

Apart from in Montpelier Square where there is whopping precept.
