Anderson vs Steyn

Reading a feature today and it was saying Steyn is quicker, more aggresive and a bigger swinger of the ball. Not convinced about the swing bit like. C'mon Jimmy!

Well he's definitely quicker. The other two are debatable.

Personally, I couldn't care less if Steyn has a much better series than Anderson as long as we win.

Steyn is the best fast bowler in the world, has been number 1 for 4 years. Jimmy has turned into a very good bowler, but isn't in his class

Other than Steyn no one is better than Anderson. Which isnt bad considering he was supposed to be shite.

If Steyn has a bad series Saffers are goosed. Whereas England have others who step up.

To quote Tendulkar "Against South Africa, you know if you see of the openers, it all becomes easier. With this England attack, it never eases up" 8-)

I think Anderson needs to have a good series too. But point taken

Yup, I think Steyn and Anderson are 1 and 2 at the minute, but I think Steyn's been top for a few years and he is the best by a considerable distance, he's just got everything you want as a fast bowler in any format.

Quick bouncers, yorkers, swing, seam. Everything Anderson's got (apart from maybe swinging it away from the left hander) but he can do some of it better, you'd never leave Steyn out of an ODI game or worry about him bowling the last over because he can hit the yorker time after time, not sure Anderson's got that in his locker.

Can't wait [fingers crossed] to see them in action - there on Friday and Saturday - hopefully this rain fucks off first

What about philander and morkel? Kallis is no mug, neither is imran tahir. It will be a cracking series, hopefully the weather holds up

I'm sure Jimmy's not far off becoming England's leading test wicket taker. If he does break that record, should we hold him in a higher regard than Botham, Willis, Trueman, Gough etc?

2nd best quick in the world vs the best, even if Jimmy batters him this month that won't change.

1st series I've been properly interested in since it was clear the Indians couldn't hack it last summer.

Didn't say it was a poor attack and it will be a cracker. However, as Tendulkar remarks, we have better strength in depth. Re: spin. Swann is currently a completely different class to Tahir.
