Anderson finished?

All about opinion....I still think Jimmy has a lot to offer...for me, Archer is the big disappointment. Bowling some rubbish. And his batting appears to be getting worse.

Jimmy has answered the critics. Class always comes through. And he is the best we have ever had. Archer still in his shadow. Would be a shame if Jimmy gets to 600 in front of a handful of people.

It wasn’t until his 100th test that his bowling average dipped below 30. It’s now sub 27.

those stats we're shocking weren't they? it's well documented that he started poorly but i didn't realise just how long it went on for. his average didn't being to dip below 35 until half way through 2010 by which time he'd played a lot of test matches

Remember him bowling much better than his figures in 08 in particular

I think there were signs around 2008/09 that he was developing into a class bowler but his stats didn't reflect that. He toured WI and bowled brilliantly, gave them nowt on the flattest of flat pitches but he didn't get the wickets his bowling deserved on that occasion. From then onwards he has been great.

the stat on TMS they said was along these lines - his career divided up into 5 segments - i forget how many tests involved but it was not a small sample size : averaged 39 for the first quite a while, then 31, then somewhere in the 20s, then back up to 30 something, then 19 up to today

overall a fantastic career but he was given quite a long leash. so he spent a good portion of his career steadily working his was down to even just the relatively poor average of 35, wasn't until well into half way through his career his average dipped below 30.

now this isn't an attack on jimmy, he is a tremendous cricketer and has, and still is having, a fantastic career. if anything it shows you the perseverance of the bloke and how much england have benefitted from showing the faith in him that they never showed to plenty of other cricketers over the years.
Well done Jimmy.

Looks like he's got his mojo back.

looks to me like he'd make an excellent bond
