It won’t happen, but I think if we made a last gasp effort to keep him and he accepted I think it’d all get smoothed over.

He’s got enough good will in the bank for that, so long as we keep performing well. He would have made a rod for his own back if he starts struggling though.

Academic as it looks like he’s gone, but I think it would by hypothetically salvageable.

This might be true. Can’t take this board as the majority of our fans

Pure speculation obviously but don't believe this has out to do with anything football related. Purely down to it suiting him better from a personal point of view. Wouldn't surprise me Neil already had this sorted on a gentleman's agreement with the club if one came in that suited him better. The contract situation has always been a bit strange

aye he could have said to them 'yes i'll talk to you, on sunday' and not had this whole shit show going on whilst we have a home game.

its completely disrespectful.

if this all happened over sunday/monday then it could have been done and dusted by the rotherham game on wednesday, and we could have someone in by the boro game next monday. still a shit show, but at least we wouldn't be theoretically throwing away a league game.

norwich will be absolutely loving this.
I’ve just lumped my whole account on them winning.

Unless its meaning he hasn't been backed on who he wants and these are all speakmans signings

The same set of signings we've all been singing the praises of though.

We've had a very good transfer window and hopefully this doesn't fuck up the signings we've had lined up

Only thing i can think of is that he wanted more proven players instead of the prospects we have been signing in line with our transfer policy. He knew what he was signing up for when he joined us so if he has suddenly changed his mind then he can fuck off.

Think its probably quite simple:

More money
More security
Probably bonuses
Probably pay out clause if sacked
Can live with his wife and kids

I'd do the same in his position. Club should've been able to avoid the first four points being an issue.
