AN Press conference - CANCELLED

He might not of forgiven us for so blatantly wanting Keane over him so he's f***ing off before we get thunder humped off Norwich tomorrow.
Serve yourselves right x

Nick Barnes just been on BBC Radio. His feeling is that Neil won't be present in the press conference. He said that when he shook Neil's have last it felt like a goodbye handshake.
If that's the case I hope Barnes gave him a fuck off shake, hard not to be bad blood if he leaves for a club like Stoke.

I for one would thank Alex Neil myself ...he got us promoted when others couldn't and would leave with my best wishes ....their is no loyalty in football nowadays we know that .....this is purely and squarely the boards fault .

I think the Pete O'Rourke tweet as good as confirms he's made his mind up where he wants to go. I know he's said it will depend what the offer on the table is from Stoke, but you don't leave to go down there the day before a really big game, potentially pissing off all our players without being extremely confident that your going to take the job and they are going to offer it.
So you think he’s decided he wants to go there before even knowing what the offer is?

he's surely not travelling down there unless he's pretty confident he's going to take whatever's on offer

he's done here if that's true. he can't just rock back up after this

Why would it be the club's fault? He's responsible for his own actions & decisions
No-one knows that he hasn’t went to the club first and said “I’ve an offer from somewhere else and I’ll stay if it’s matched etc”. We can hardly have confidence in the board yet can we who let’s be fair only find themselves in this position because of Neil.

I would agree that if he’s went to Stoke the day before a game then that’s poor though.

It comes down to the rolling contract bud. It was a stupid thing to do and in the end, it’s bitten us on the arse.

I don’t care if Neil was happy with the agreement or not, the club should have been firm immediately after promotion.
If we'd tried to get him on a longer deal (who knows whether we did) and he said no & we said "piss off then". The fans would have gone mental saying "give him what he wants"

If it's any consolation, when playing football manager 22, my hotshot assistant, Alex Baptiste, always got headhunted by clubs, I always told him I wanted him to stay but allowed him to talk to clubs.

He told me he respected my understanding and always came back. This was at Exeter too if that helps
Is that Alex John-Baptiste? Ex player. I went to school with him. Just saying

The club have fed the journos bollocks about him going to Stoke for talks. He appears in the presser with 4 new world class signings and an announcement he has a 5 year contract..
If only carlsburg did Friday afternoons

It's very much this for me. I don't really care what Alex Neil thinks of Sunderland as a football club, our history or our fans but what's gone on behind the scenes to make him think Stoke are a better prospect for him than Sunderland?

If he does go I hope the reason it is just about money or some personal reasons. His comments about Broadhead the other week when he signed for Wigan and now this... not sure about any of it.
Time to move on...little prick will regret it I'm very sure
