When was the last time our players ran through brick walls for a manager? Allardyce.

If we won’t pay Neil what he wants why would we pay Dyche.

We’d end up with an absolute journeyman. It’s what’ we do

I don’t know what Neil wants or what he’s paid, the only thing I know for certain is Stoke are interested in him and SAFC have given him permission to speak to them.

Everything else is conjecture and opinion at the minute but I reiterate that if our CURRENT manager believes Stoke City is a more attractive option than us, he can gladly leave as he’s not the right person for our club.

Who the fuck is suggesting that and its becoming clearly apparent that he probably doesn't.
That's what the model Is, buy young inexperienced players on the cheap and hope they do something, might work for L1 but you'll struggle in the Championship, you might find the odd gem.

It is. But let’s not think for a second that the strategy has always been spot on since Speakman arrived. There have been some clangers and Neil’s appointment was a fortunate consequence of a fortnight of clangers.

I think it’s going to be hard to find a competent coach at championship level as good as Neil that will be happy with ceding control and embarking on a recruitment campaign that predominantly focuses on bringing very inexperienced players.

I hope that whatever materialises here doesn’t derail us significantly. It’s mental that this is even under discussion at this stage

Mistakes are always likely to happen of course.

This is far from ideal but ultimately it is far better to suffer than instability than change course.

I wouldn't say it was mental, more a sign of things goings well.

I'm genuinely baffled as to what Stoke bring to the negotiating table that we don't? Isn't going to Stoke a sideways move, at best? Or am I missing something?
Nothing in a football sense. It’s probably more likely to be higher salary, long term contract and geographically closer to his family.

Tony Mowbray, Liam Manning and Ian Evatt are 3 names high up on the Stoke City manager shortlist.

Interviews will start taking place shortly.

We’ve come a relatively long way, in precisely the amount of time AN has been here.

He is the reason things improved. Before he arrived, the clubs trajectory was either flat or down.

I disagree, with this post and the majority of yours on this thread.

Would make for an interesting discussion at some point but probably not now.

Sorry, but this is a f***ing shambles. The fault is with the club as the rolling contract was yet another penny pinching load of shite.

Neil has to do what is best for him. If Stoke are offering a four year deal for example, it gives him and his family security.

Make no mistake, if he goes then KLD and the new ownership are to blame. People will be rightly pissed off
Think it'd show a pathetic lack of ambition on Neil's part if he does go there but the fact that we're even in this situation to begin with is the result of it being complete amateur hour from Dreyfus and co, yet again.
