One source starts a rumour and the other just repeats it.
You know that's how it works, just one look at Newsnow would tell you that much.
The Athletic don't start 'rumours' with us though.

With every important thing with the club, they have been absolutely spot on. First to report Keano rejecting us. First to report KLD 'taking over' when he first arrived and first to report when he was going up to 51%. They know don't just post for fun. They are accurate when it comes to us.

He'll end up getting himself a few more quid to stay here. Perfect timing for him whilst his stock is high.
Your probably right...but neils obvious frustration with the number of signings might be a sign that everything is not right behind the scenes. We have just bought a kid from S America as an investment for the future but perhaps neil wanted other targets first .......

But Neil knew that was the script when signing on. It's very rare that a manager actually has sole control over transfers these days.

If he thinks Stoke is a better option, then he can get fucked. There's no room for sentiment in football, as Neil is proving today with all this f***ing on the day before we play.

Indeed he did. Or maybe they agreed a change to the script and it’s not gone as agreed. That’s what we won’t really know.

As I’ve just posted, this is shite for us whatever happens now. If he speaks to Stoke and returns to us having strengthened his own circumstances it calls into question his character or the club’s commitment to their direction, if he fucks off we’re left with big shoes to fill and in chaos when things were looking up.

Happy days eh

Not sure why the club have even given him permission to speak with them.

Here's a 3 year deal, you're not going anywhere unless you voluntarily cancel your contract to speak to Stoke.

If he does go then it's because of internal shit at the club and tbh I've had enough of what I can take, especially after the last few years. So I would genuinely cancel my season card as it would be obvious to me that even under this ownership, we'd still be the same old circus. If he'd left to go to a Premier League club then fair enough, for a foreign job in a good top flight somewhere then fair enough. Not f***ing Stoke. If we're losing good managers to Stoke then that tells you all you need to know about the inner workings of the club.

Nobody knows.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
