He will be offered the chance to be near his family with a double his wage and a good length contract. We either do better than that or he will be away.

He might also like Job security. He has a pathetic contract at Sunderland with limited security... Another club could be offering him similar/more money on a longer contract. No brainer for him
Hes already a millionaire.
How much job security does he need?

The reasons he is leaving are very simple:

1) More money
2) Longer contract
3) Autonomy to bring in players he wants rather than solely working under a Director of Football model
4) Can move back to his family home in the north-west

99.9% of players and managers couldn't give a shiny shite about how many fans we have or how many trophies we've won before they were born.

As much as I want Neil to stay it would be a bit of a shit move from him to jump ship after all he's said over the past 6 month. If he goes it's on him, not the club.

And to Stoke of all places

This - it’ll be about his own bank balance and contract length

He’s been backed so far and we’re well in the market, he knows how it works down in the championship

We went out and got him Clarke right away for a start. He won’t have been cheap

The club chose Neil remember.

If he goes he goes. The club should never be held to ransom. If he thinks he can do better at Stoke let him go Stoke.

I trust the club to find a suitable manager. We arent losing Guardiola here
