Surely to god if we have given permission to talk to stoke it’s becauseThat's my worry. Even if he does stay, it shows he is not happy at all.
If it was a Premier league job you'd sort of accept it, as a huge jump in pay and opportuniy, but Stoke aren't far off where we are at this point, possibly a bit more cash to offer, but they are in the doldrums whereas we were seemingly on an upward trajectory.
Stinks of bad behind the scenes stuff to be desperate to make a sidestep like that
Might like a quiet life at middle of the road clubs, look at who he’s managed previouslyI really like Neil now. He proved me wrong. But I still think he doesn't like the intensity of our fans and the media spotlight up here. If he goes to Stoke it's a downwards step.
Wey not likely, you couldn’t knock out a wank youYes I would, he's tiny
As Hunter insinuated in May and repeated the other day, the club had to do as much as possible to retain his services if they wanted to keep him long term. Sort out the contract and make concessions on certain recruitment decisions.
Obviously this is speculation on my part, but I suspect the signing of the Costa Rican boy is more of a club decision than an Alex Neil decision and it hasn’t gone down well given what we need in the market. Perhaps the pursuit of the French boy is similar too.
If there are differences of opinion on recruitment and there’s a potential offer elsewhere with better terms and more control then it’s inevitable Neil will at least consider it. Especially if it’s a club geographically closer to his wife and family.
Sorry 'tried to walk away twice'. What does that mean?I've banged on here for weeks saying i've been dissappointed with lack of recruitment..i got pelters. Turns out Neil has been to. Tried to walk away twice.
Sean Dyche
That’s who downie works for… he does this all the time. Wouldn’t worry until decent reporters pick up on itWell its breaking news on sky sports.
When has he tried to walk away, first time it’s been mentioned?I've banged on here for weeks saying i've been dissappointed with lack of recruitment..i got pelters. Turns out Neil has been to. Tried to walk away twice.
They all posted before Downie. What if they saw the Keith Downie tweet and just rehashed it.
Relax.
It’s the backwards step. I just don’t understand it.If, and it's a big if, that is the case, the most depressing thing about it is how a manager who has already achieved "hero" status would even contemplate leaving. Unless, of course Madrox are still sniffing around in KLD's office making his position almost untenable.
What stopped him? If someone wants to leave, who stops them?I've banged on here for weeks saying i've been dissappointed with lack of recruitment..i got pelters. Turns out Neil has been to. Tried to walk away twice.
At least he may show some loyaltySean Dyche
I’m hearing he wants to take Stewart with him as well
i am not at all. Do not bite
Course he is man. He’s not happy that we have fuck all to spend. He was annoyed when we got called one of the highest spenders. Even if stoke can’t spend atm they have a hell of a lot more potential to.This. He’s notorious for reading shit on here and posting it as fact. Neil isn’t going anywhere
