I genuinely cant see why he would leave us for Stoke.

There's no chance if it happening. We've just played them. He's seen we've got the better players and already knows we're the bigger club with a bigger fanbase. It's a big step down from Sunderland to stoke as things stand. There's not a cat in hells chance of him taking it. Some idiot will have hoyed a good few quid on it and the bookies react accordingly.

I like Neil but if he honestly wants away to quite literally the first club to come for him (f***ing Stoke!), he’d be off like a shot with the first sacking of a manager of a decent club. Revealed a surprisingly mercenary character trait, if all this is to be believed.

More money, longer contract, autonomy to bring in the players he wants rather than solely working under a DoF model, be closer to his family in the north-west.

If we take off the SAFC tinted glasses, there's several reasons.
They cant spend any money because thwyve made a mess over the years of ffp

They can offer him a big contract though

I wouldn't be so sure of this.

Several big journos reporting it now

Michael Proctor in charge tomorrow? FFS..Surely this can't be allowed to happen. Is the SAFC Curse about to strike us yet again?
People say there isn't one, i'm convinced there is haha

Surprised we didn't automatically offer him a new contract after he got us promoted. When asked about it in an interview not long ago AN said it suits both parties and is normal in the game now. Words to that affect.

For the record. I DO NOT believe he is going, unless my fellow musician chum on here tells me otherwise. And even at that point I would question the source.
