AN Press conference - CANCELLED

Maybe there's bad news about a player departure coming which has upset the applecart (pure speculation but there's only one player would have that impact)

Improved money, longer contract, control of transfer policy and closer to wife and family in the region. Self belief that he can get Stoke to be competitive?

Neil is up here on his own in Durham on a 12 month rolling contract without overall managerial control of incomings and outgoings. It’s easy to see why he’d be attracted by a move elsewhere if the terms and conditions were better
I don't get why people don't get it. Very similar aims, take away 20k fans and is their much difference not really. People need to take the specs off when looking at this.

He's been given permission to talk to Stoke but we are trying to keep him supposedly. Probably going to come down to how much money we offer him.

If Alex Neil does leave (and it will it be a mistake from both sides if it does occur and I'll be gutted)....but this club will move on ....it does not revolve around 1 person

Classic SMB putting 2+2 together and getting 9000476543219642743

Aye, classic that. James Hunter putting out an article about Neil’s contract situation and position at the club, a scheduled press conference at 9 am being cancelled whilst journalists wait, the Athletic putting out an article saying the expectation on Wearside is that he will leave, Keith Downie saying he’s off to speak to Stoke and the bookies having him top of the pile. All whilst Neil makes thinly veiled comments about disgruntlement with recruitment speed and substance.

It’s wildly speculative from the empty vessels of the SMB
