Altidore

Ill accept the argument that Altidore does not get great service but on the same note he does not get himself into good positions to receive good service, nor does he work hard and just walks around till the ball is close to him and he wins fuck all in the air and gets pushed of the ball non stop.

I want the lad to do well but off what ive seen hes just not up to it at all and thats an honest opinion.

Sunderland bought a forward that thrives on passing to the feet and yet we continue to hoof balls to him in the air as lone striker with two defenders on him.

If we wanted crouch, we should have bought crouch.

That said, its quite obvious altidore is frustrated with his round peg/ square hole role and not giving his best effort. He was open twice in the box on forward runs for easy pass-n-goals... except gardner and johson didnt pass it and lost the ball.

I'd bench him at this point - he is not the forward for this system and his frustration shows it.

Stop being silly now. America only entered the war after Pearl Harbour, and when Hitler declared war on the USA. Typical Yank revisionist history. Stick to your Hollywood version of historical events, it's what keeps you happy.

As a country, Britain has achieved more per capita in science, industry, sport, and almost everything else than America could ever dream of.

HAhahahahhaaha funny you need to bring "per capita" because you know very well we have more Nobel Prize winners in Science and Mathematics than you Brits and we have been a country for only 236 years. US has 270 and UK has 101. For a country that has so "much more" accomplishment than we can "ever" dream of, you are still behind us. LOL

He did well first half, won us a lot of free kicks and territory with that. Never let them settle. Gardner and Johnson should have both put him in to score tap ins. 2nd half, no one was as good as they were in the first. Happy with jozy here.

You have to be joking. Jozy was in two great positions in the first half and the ball never came to him. How would fletcher have done better?

You are upset because of the position WE find ourselves but scapegoating Jozy is pathetic. I watched him battle for shit balls all day.

I don't recall the specific positions you mention so I can't say for certain. Fletcher has scored this season and did score last season with no service. There were a couple of balls across the box today that Fletcher would have been pouncing on where Jozy was stood still. Jozy has done nothing worth noting in his Sunderland career so far.

Whos to blame then, the DOF, the manager or altidore himself for not having the nous to adapt?

"There were ominous signs for United in their failure to cope with Jozy Altidore's physical approach, with even the usually formidable Vidic struggling to contain the powerful striker as he was brushed effortlessly off the ball in some fierce exchanges."

Says the BBC

Well like normal we can't see anything everyone else sees. PDC is going to be trouble? No us against the world. Our players will play better once he leaves? No us against the world. "Insert player name here" is a load of shite (even though they perform everywhere else?)? No us against the world.

I think that's very accurate for the first 25 minutes. But Vidic kept at it and Jozy didn't.

hahhahahaa your team is utter garbage. It should be you who should drive off a cliff for actually caring about this team. Don't be mad at me or Altidore. Im just telling you the truth.

Is the fact Altidore is a key part of this team, and therefore a part of the problem, lost on you, you complete and utter moron?

Can you please explain why per capita doesn't apply here? I'd love to see your explanation.

The Nobel prize didn't come into existence until 1944 so the age of your country is irrelevent when it comes to this award. The USA has a population approx. 5 times that of the UK, so if we have 101 Nobel prizes you should have at least 505, yet you only have 270. Not so bright are you ?

And you haven't been a country for 236 years, it's been a country since the Earth was formed about 4.6 billion years ago, yes it's moved around a bit since then, but it's always been there in one form or another (unless of course you're a creationist and you think the Earth is only 6,000 years old, and there's loads of those nutters in the good ol' US of A )

He's not a hoofball, lone forward... never has been.

If bally wants hoofball striker, he should play someone else.

The question is, with fletcher sidelined, who's better suited?

The service into him is f***ing dreadful tbf. Doing the best he can given the circumstances. When he does win it (which wasn't many times today admittedly) there's no one anywhere near him.

He will score against the mags and all will be forgiven.

Fuck it let's have the Yank/Jawdee Bastard!

So what were you pre-1776 out of interest?

I dont know the answer, wish i did.

Were in the shit really, theres a small chance we can get out of this if we start to pick up points after the international break but if we dont were fucked. Im past caring now like, sick of the back teeth being let down.

If we do go down as long as its fighting not a whimper i may be able to stomach it however if its like the 15 point season ill be left with feelings of what the fuck is the point?

Didn't have a chance with the telegraphed hoofballs to him today, laid it off well when given the chance. Not much support for him.

It was a case of hoof it a foot above his head, nah, didn't work, Man U attack, then hoof again, Man U attack etc, etc...

The lad is over 6ft and he was outjumped every time, he hardly made any movement off the ball and his head went down all too easily. If we're playing one up front at least have someone who can battle for it.
