dead right I did. Missed about thirty games since 1983. Been upto yours many times to watch a lot of last minute 1-0 defeats and was at the very first game at sol.

remember your goaly with the bendy legs? Norman and you had Dave Bennett’s brother, Nicky summerbee and of course big Niall. Sorry about Rodwell!!

I was at the famous 3-2 relegation game

we honestly as a group of fans have nothing but respect for Sunderland. The way you were at Wembley is talked about non stop. Cannot wait to see you back at the top!!

it’s worth checking out the thread of you can find it or anyone clever can post a link to here?

I don’t know how to I am a bit thick!!!
Nice one Mark, bringing back some brilliant memories, was at the 3:2 defeat myself, one of the best away supports I've witnessed, take my hat off to city fans, atleast you mainly come from Manchester, good luck for the future!!

it was a privilege to be there. Proper old school football day.

I was in Covent Garden the night before Wembley and you guys had taken over and I was with my 3 kids. Came out and went for a bite and not one bit of mither from the Sunderland lads in spite of many being very pissed and me and the kids in our kits. You are a very respected club across the nation and that is worth as much if not more as any trophy. I hope one day I see you win the premier league. When you are as big as you are never say never.
Enjoyed reading that thread. Cheers.

Was in the City end when we lost 3-2 in the 90's to get relegated. Their supporters wanted us to win to send Luton down (Luton sent them down with dancing David Pleat) but we of course did a Sunderland and grabbed defeafrom the jaws of victory
City actually finished about Utd that day, for the first time since Dennis Law releagted them.

What’s your thoughts about the treatment of Sergio this season? Surplus to requirements as yr winning, or should be playing more?

he is knackered mate. Knees not great and we play better without. He has been absolutely amazing and the dream would be he scores in the final. I can’t get my head around no striker at time’s but who am I to argue with Pep. It has been an absolute pleasure watching Silva, Aguero etc these last few years.

Interesting. Thought he was fully fit. Is it confirmed where he’s going next? I did hear rumours of Barca, but can’t see them signing someone his age with a sketchy knee.

Nice tread about you guys on blue moon under the general football thread at the moment - very complimentary!!

Remember being in your home end with a few Man City Mates.
The Swindon fans were in the corner, December game if I recall you won 3-0.
90 minutes of Man City pressure, we done well to keep it to 3.

First 20 minutes you didn’t score, hit bar, post, off line the lot and me thinking a 0-0 draw. Around the 20th minute you scored, everyone up on their feet, my mates giving me shit but I sat still.
Realised some absolute meatheads around us, then 2-0 I sat motionless thinking ffs we are shite (some things never change).
Tap on the shoulder big mean looking bastard, asked ‘You Swindon.”
Why lie, “yes I said.”
His reply, “You are in for a long afternoon mate.”
So I was but the lads around took pity and they were all sound, even at the whistle they wanted to buy me a pint.
How shit I was the driver for the day. The lass in the pub though took a shine, the only thing that went well.
Nowt wrong with Citeh, good loyal fans and Moss Side was alright.

I didn't go to the 2014 LC final, but I remember Noel Gallagher talking on the radio, after City won the league cup.
He made a real point of praising our fans, and couldn't speak highly enough, of our support that day, and the magnanimous way in which we took our defeat, and the incredible noise and backing our fans gave to our team, throughout the game, even when it was clear, it wasn't to be our day.
He also mentioned the great sportsmanship our fans showed, in applauding City when they received the trophy, and of the way our fans showed their class, and the respect shown to each other, by both sets of supporters, before and after the game.
