Yeah, anyone can turn up at Anfield and use the boardroom eh. Not a peep from anyone when Liverpool are involved, albeit in a small way. It's ok to have a Grand Prix there, it's fine to host the boxing, and it's ok for us to sell billions of pounds worth of arms to them. I'm not defending Newcastle, I think it's disgusting that they own the club now. I think it's about time we stopped trading with them altogether. Agreed?

Get over yourself. There will be 50+ Saudi's there for most games scattered across various lounges and not wearing Thobes. Huge difference between that and giving ownership over.

I’d agree with that.

I agree fully regards not trading with them and always have.

Probably because I cant stand the bastards.

He says that we could have had Howe under Ashley. OK, so why didn't we then? It's not like Ashley gave a hoot about the reaction of the fans. This is just more of Samuel's bitterness coming through. He hates Newcastle, which is his prerogative, but he shouldn't try and dress it up as journalism. The fat Bluto lookalike arsehole that he is.

Is it not because he speaking the truth though ,tbf if this appointment was under Ashley they'd be hell on as well you know ?

It does to me as well. I've been thinking there's no way they would pay a billion to just buy the mags there has to be something else and it has to be profitable

It would also explain the hands off approach by the PIF?

If they had spent the billion to buy NUFC you'd expect them to be much more decisive and ambitious with the transfer targets and manager

Howe was up for talks the week before the takeover, I've a mate that's uncle used to play for the scum and gets little tit bits. I stuck £25 on him @22/1

I don't think it's outlandish to suggest you could have had howe under Ashley mind. Maybe he could have gone there but Ashley chose Bruce or whoever. Howes last job was impressive, but ultimately it went wrong and he got relegated having spent a lot of money pretty poorly. I'm not sure what kind of club he'd get a job at tbh, I think a pre-takeover Newcastle would have been about right. He wouldn't get an Everton you wouldn't think. Maybe West ham if they weren't doing so well, but hardly a certainty he'd get that. I think NUFC are a club he'd be interested in and would have been a realistic appointment under Ashley. Under this lot it looks uninspiring, especially as he's far from first choice

Unless a journo isn’t blowing smoke up the arses of needy mags he’s hated like everyone else is who dares criticise the delicate poppets ! The only decent journalists are the ones who have called out this circus for what it is

The simple fact is, Eddie Howe is the new manager and he's tasked with getting this lot set up to handle the relegation fight.
It's a simple case of, like him or not, he's in the hot seat and has to be backed by us fans and in the January window if he appears to be able to get some kind of a tune out of the squad, enough to form a real match day team of never say die players...at least...but with proper coaching nous to get an overall improvement.

I'm behind him 100% because I don't see any other point not to get behind him.
He may not be world class or international standard or a big name on a pedestal. So what. We are a relegation threatened team and that's all we are as it stands.

Eddie Howe may just do a David Moyes at West Ham....who knows?

Certain fans have got what they wanted. Ashley gone and Bruce gone and now his backroom staff will likely be gone, apart from Graham Jones, maybe.

So therefore Eddie Howe should be coming in with a total neutral and clean slate to hit his own ground running and this is where we all need to run with him and not judge him too early.
Eddie Howe may do a David Moyes at Sunderland😎
