Since this morning i have had 3 Mag colleagues message me about the fact he has won loads of trophys elsewhere, seems they are as happy with this as they were with the waiter, im not sure the enthusiasm will last long to be honest.

Does that not show he's a relatively capable manager?
Why wouldn't you look at a new employees CV?

Of course it doesn’t because they don’t have a football person in that has created a strategy yet.
This should have been the first appointment.
The longer it goes on it’s seems like the owners believe they know what’s best in football terms.
I heard Brian Marwood mentioned a few weeks back, he would have been the person or type of person to appoint to make a plan.
I’m assuming he wasn’t approached and staying at City, thankfully
Amanda knows best eh 😂
I hope Emery is happy with Jones as one of his coaches as he's apparently been given assurances about his future. Another strange decision from a footballing perspective.

Emery is a risk for them, but to be fair there weren't many realistic options who wouldn't be a risk. He's a decent manager, had some success elsewhere, knows the league (if that matters) and you'd fancy him to do better than Bruce. Don't really see him as an instant impact type mind, that'll possibly be an issue given they need to pick up points quickly, but I don't agree that they should go for a firefighter just because they're near the bottom of the table. If he can organise them and get the most from their few "decent" players he could get them safe and then he's probably not a bad bet to kick on. Not a mint appointment mind, not exactly exciting, but realistically I don't know who else they'd get. Howe would be a risk, Martinez certainly would be, the likes of Conte were never realistic

Im not saying hes not capable i just feel hes the wrong choice for you lot and it will end in tears.

I'm not sure he is either. But he's not a bad manager, and it'll be an improvement on what we have had so far this season. Probably need 34 points from 28 games (or 27 if he comes in after the weekend).
It's possible and with a transfer window it makes things easier

What do Emery, Favre, Fonseca, Howe and Martinez have in common? This is a genuine question, not the start of a joke.

I can't see what links them as managers/coaches so it all seems a little scattergun to me. Not really indicative of a coherent, well considered, structured, intelligent strategy.
Well aside from ability, I don't think there's one thing they're all known for. To me it looks like they're a list of candidates with varying approaches and experiences, from that pool you pick one that best aligns with your other plans, or at least one that your other plans can work with.

Fonseca, Favre, Emery all appear to prefer playing with the ball, with varying degrees of focus on attack. Fonseca being the most, Emery the least attacking minded. Howe likes to play football on the deck, but perhaps isn't as competent a defensive coach as, say Emery or Favre.

Martinez is an odd one, he's not really getting the most out of the most talented Belgian squad in as long as I can remember, and I couldn't really tell you what style he favours except for the attacking stuff at Wigan.
