Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

And so can @Father Jack Hackett make a guess at it. He went to Saudi too if I’m not mistaken, not FJH. I’m amazed how some people can be so adamant they are right at something they freely admit they know nothing about whilst completely denigrating others, but there you go
And of course his length of contracts does affect what people have to pay. I’m not saying he was or wasn’t £5m but football is a funny owld game
He went to Qatar. I'll apologise now to @Father Jack Hackett because I didn't mean any malice I'd just be absolutely stunned if we got that figure. I'll leave it there.
Every report read at the time, including the BBC said undisclosed fee. There was plenty chat on here when he left to go to Saudi folk incorrectly stating he was a free transfer into Safc.
He went to Qatar mate but aye, it's run its course.

I and many others hope for realistic ambition ... nothing more than that....those ambition extend to be able to field a squad that has coverage in all areas and depth.... nobody is making demands on kld squandering his wealth but showing more ambition than he has is not being unrealistic.

We've spent zero this summer ...

your point about us needing to being bought out and not being able to attain this limit ambition makes me want to respond that these are not mutually inclusive...more over if kld hasn't got the resources to achieve those modest ambitions why is he here? If I'm a 26 year old billionaire...I wouldnt want to own sunderland ( many wouldn't )

The reality is ( and its not being disproved ) is were a cheap operation ... incapable of evolving on key areas. I ask red to prove that's not the case.
What is acceptable and what is not given where we are and how do we achieve our ambition of making the playoffs with what we have?

Can anybody prove we are not run on a shoestring ... can anybody further prove that not having a 1st ready striker I'd OK for over 440 days... if the current situation OK and are people genuinely happy for it to persist indefinitely ?
Well put bud, don’t disagree but I would say, it is what it is, he owns us it’s up to him to fund it to the level he wants to, I think we agree with that, and if he, say, decides that he’s happy to let it continue at it’s present level of low investment, well there’s nothing we can do until we sell a couple for big bucks and hopefully reinvest it. Genuinely I’m happy, I’ve had 55 years of going and seen it a lot better and a lot worse, I can’t influence his staying or going, except maybe not renewing my ticket, and as I’m still going with lads I’ve been going with for nearly 50 years I’m not prepared to do that, so in answer to your last point I wish we were challenging for top 6 in the premier, never mind the championship, but I can’t make it happen, so I’m not gonna stress about it.

Hope is the drug of choice for all if us when it comes to safc ...that and booze and for some disco dust

I like a bit of nick cave ...he of the bad seeds ...I saw an interview with him recently responding to a fan who was going thru a challenging time ...

Cave when onto describe his relationship with hope ( after the death of his son)

Cave shared some profound thoughts on hope, particularly highlighting its challenging and adversarial nature. He described hope as a stance that is far from neutral; it is something hard-earned and demands effort. Cave emphasised that unlike cynicism, which can be seductive and easy, hopefulness requires us to actively combat despair. He described hope as a "warrior emotion" that stands in opposition to cynicism, underscoring the necessity of small, redemptive acts—such as sharing moments of love or care—as vital to maintaining this hope.

We all hope for better things for safc ...and our hope is always under threat
I don't want to be clouded by cynicism ...but I try an look at things as this appear to be and make judgement calls

But like all of you ...its the hope I can't stand ...at times
