Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

€2.5m for Rusyn their biggest outlay so far? Maybe that’s put them off doing it again, hardly been a roaring success.
2.5 euros slightly cheaper. Sounds like 2million pounds sterling is our cut off point. If rusyn is putting them off he was their signing. Maybe they should have better scouts, or listen to them if they aren't signing their top recommendations

Maybe with a different style of play that regi implements we may see certain players do better rates than trying to play tika taka across your back line all game I feel as it’s hard to judge last seasons signings with the clowns we had in charge of tactics
100%

How anyone is so ignorant to this being the biggest thing to address in the summer is beyond me. We literally had mowbray where we were reasonably successful with the inbalanced young squad vs beale and dodds who pulled all the good stuff to pieces with same squad.

Watching us last saturday tells me we will see a competitive safc team again. Hopefully with the new additions & 1 years experience of the youngsters enough to push further up the league... obviously with a new striker aswell 😂

The same Mowbray who got sacked for daring to say we’d been left short? That Mowbray?

Mowbray was in charge until November, which of the new signings done well under him?
He got sacked to cover up for the woeful recruitment mate, none of the so called strikers could hit a cows arse with a banjo. He called it out after the Millwall game, the amount of chances we created with nobody to convert them, said it's a hard task to try and win games whilst trying to include the young inexperienced players. The first thing Dodds did was to play without any of the so called strikers, a theme he continued after Beale was sacked, he didn't even try , even he realised that they were nowhere near the required standard. Unbelievable that the person who shoulders the majority of the blame for last seasons shit show in Speakman is still in a job. But don't forget, lessons have been learned.

It's not just those two XIs though.

Noukeu
Johnson Triantis Hjelde Anderson
Ba Matete Embleton
Jewi Hemir Watson

That's three XIs we can put out without properly dipping into the u21s, obviously Embo is about to leave but we've got a big first team squad with strength in depth. We could get by and be fine if we only sign one more player, as long as that one player is a goalscoring striker.
Probably be alright in league 2. We have plenty bodies but it showed at Bradford most of them aren’t up to scratch and that was classed as our second string 11.

This is getting frustrating now, feels like the club are holding out for Mendy and I would like to think KLD and Speakman will be frustrated now. The first game on Saturday could actually make us get one over the line if we don't score and fans get on the clubs back even more.

They held out until the very end of the window for their top target last season. Ruysn!

They were looking at replacing him in the summer, should have just done it then if that's what they wanted, he was a dead man walking from then on.
Its strange the way things work out because getting rid of mowbray and hiring beale then dodds has well and truly highlighted that they were too arrogant about running a footy club. I was furious at the time but I actually think it has made them sit up and be more respectful to the technical recruitment aspect of the club

It won’t make a difference. They are happy to run our club into the ground.

Learnt lessons have they?

Sacking Mowbray wasn’t the issue, deciding that Beale was the man to replace him was.

TBH they should have had the courage of their convictions thanked Mowbray for an interim job well done and got someone in over the summer.

They never wanted Mowbray to stay and it showed with the apparent pursuit of farioli and the resulting straining of the relationship had a detrimental impact on our performances.

They have proved very good at the old self sabotage at times and for me the managerial situations we have found ourselves in is evidence of that……just feels like they are making it much harder than it needs to be
